Weekend plans

“It’s going to be another busy busy day,” Moira inevitably says at some point every evening when we are putting her to bed. I guess when you are 2.5 years old no matter what the next day holds there are always adventures to be had and every day is, indeed, busy busy.

This weekend does prove to be busy busy for us. Tonight is our second Saturday Supper – also known as the Whole Foods Plant Based Potluck. This is something we are trying to do every month since so many of our friends also seem interested in eating less meat – and also because so many of us seem to have small children right now and who doesn’t love a potluck? Small children and potlucks go hand in hand. Just ask Moira and her pals.

I think it is nice to have a monthly event to look forward too – and it is nice that we now have more space to host these events since we always seem to be the hosts and never the hostee(s) (and that too is a post for another day).

Sunday the Mister and I are going on our first post-Fionnuala date. I’ve been pumping milk every day to have enough in the freezer for grandma when she comes to look after Miss M and Miss Finns while the Mister and I escape to see Harry Potter & The Dealthy Hallows part 1. I could go on and on (and on) about how excited I am but instead I’ll just say: yes, I am going to dig out our matching Dumbledore’s Army t-shirts that I made a couple years ago.

That sounds so fun! We love having people over too, potlucks are such a great (and frugal!) way to do it. I can only imagine how much better it’ll be with little kids, they are so funny. Ha but all our friends are just starting out now with the babies so it’ll be a couple years before they’re all running around talking I guess =).
