What a remarkable and talented beauty she was – one who was more interested in perfecting her craft than being known as a great beauty. Her life was often marred by mental illness but she didn’t let that stop her from working right until the end (she died of tuberculosis in July 0f 1967). Her most famous films, doctor Gone With the Wind and A Street Car Named Desire are widely available but if you get a chance rent That Hamilton Woman or Waterloo Bridge – she shines in them.
