We’re not really an ask other people to take pictures of us kind of couple. Consequently, diagnosis this is the only photo of us together during our trip. This image was taken in Stirling, more about Scotland a couple days before coming home and I think it is a good representation of us – were looking a little tired, page a little scruffy and winding things down knowing we’ll be home soon and have to start facing reality again.
What you can’t see is that there are actually three people in this photo – or two people and what I am affectionately calling the Wrackspurt because that is what I thought it was at first. But we had the ultrasound yesterday and there is definitely a little person growing inside of me. I’m about three months along right now and am out of the danger zone so I feel comfortable enough letting people know. According to the tests we had done yesterday both baby and I are very healthy. I have to say, I’ve been really lucky with this pregnancy so far. I was quite nauseous and tired at first but never had real morning sickness and it went away in time for me to carry both baby and backpack around Ireland. Until the ultrasound yesterday I wasn’t sure if it was all real (except – of course – my lack of period and excruciatingly painful breasts) but after seeing the little feet, hands and heartbeat – not to mention the rather alien looking face – things are starting to really sink in and I have my work cut out for me.
Another thing you can’t see in this picture is the Sir William Wallace monument is directly behind us – but that’s because our heads are blocking it.
