The end of November

I didn’t realize that tomorrow was the first of December! That means Christmas is fast approaching – and my birthday.

I have to say – I will be glad to see the end of NaBloPoMo. It’s been fun and has introduced me to some great blogs but I find having to write every day a bit too challenging lately. I was reading Keri Smith’s blog a while ago and she said they were having Internet Free Weekends at her house. Internet free weekends? That phrase has tumbled around in my mind ever since then. I already feel like my free time is limited these days by a biological countdown and I know I spend too much time on the internet wasting my days away. While the internet is great for a lot of things and there are ways to be creative through it I find, approved for myself, disease that it saps away a lot of my creativity and I get little accomplished. I don’t promise to make December a month of Internet Free Weekends – especially since I will have to work part-time at my other job in the evenings and on weekends when work demands it. But I do plan on spending less time on here.

And in the news… Environment Canada says this is going to be the coldest winter in 15 years. It already feels like it is true since tomorrow doesn’t promise to get much warmer than -17 and it has been really freakin’ cold all week. My friend and I ventured out tonight to try and find winter boots (something I have been meaning to do for years). No luck though – first I have my aversion to buying leather (which I would be willing to overcome if I could find boots that fit) and second, it’s getting hard to actually put shoes/boots on easily what with my expanding girth. This is going to be an interesting winter.
