Let’s Get Out of This Country is going to have a permanent spot in my car CD collection. I loved driving around listening to it this week and I didn’t hear any complaints from Moira either (and she has complained before if she hasn’t liked the music or if there is too much talk radio going on for her liking).
This week’s pick is Little Joy.
Little Joy is a side project for The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti and singer/guitarist for Los Hermanos, tadalafil Rodrigo Amarante (along with Binki Shapiro – a girl I had never heard of before but I’ve been living under a musical rock for a while so that doesn’t mean anything). Upon first listen the music reminds me of the Bossa Nova greats collaborating in the 60’s: Antonio Carlos Jobim & Joao Gilberto and Astrud Gilberto & Stan Getz – but modernized and with a heavy Strokes influence (probably because I know little of Los Hermanos).
Check out Little Joy’s MySpace page for some videos.
