1) We are totally exhausted because the guy doing our assessment was very thorough, knowledgeable and awesome. Our brains are fried.
2) Some things we didn’t know needed to be done right away are now going to be done Right Away. Others, like the basement, are going to have to wait.
3) If you are interested in seeing the photos they are here. The house hasn’t been cleaned out yet of the previous owners things.

Congratulations! Just have to remember that every little bit of work you put it makes the place that much more yours. Hope the work goes well.
It seems so strange that the two people are just up and gone from their house. It seems like its been a happy house for them, good vibes. Bad toilet!
I just found this blog of old – I mean, ahem, “mid-century modern” – decor deliciousness. I get the feeling that some people’s towns have much nicer thrift stores than mine does. Inspiring, though, especially for that authentic 1950s bungalow feel…

Oh wild! Congrats on being through the hard part- going to see the pictures now =)
congrats, a good template for all of your plans! I love the bathroom sink too, although I’m sure it’s not practical.. What are you going to do with all that space?? lol. Hope Alice in Wonderland was a great break from all the craziness. We are going to do the sewing group every first Wed of the month btw..
Awesome!
It looks very NW Calgary. Dare I hope that you’re soon to be my neighbour?
Anne: The old couple that lived there have since moved into a home and have only been gone (I believe) since December. It is sad but man, what a life living in the same house since 1955! That is the kind of life I want.
Andreae: Thanks a lot! I totally didn’t need another design blog to ooh and aah over!
